Anyone know how to get google to pickup my wordpress blog?

My wordpress blog has been up for like a month.

Any SEO web pros out there have any ideas on how to get a baseball blog up on google? I created my wordpress blog through my hostgator server account, and its on my domains index file.

try submitting it to google. Just search for "add url" or something like that.

That will at least let google know your blog exists. The next step is to create backlinks to your blog. Try commenting on other baseball blogs, forums, etc... Make sure you add your website URL everywhere you can.

Just make sure your blog actually has content before you start promoting it.

I would suggest you use a pinging service... Try some of the following services...

http://www.pingoat.com/

Also create an RSS Feed for your blog is you do not already have one.

If your blog is properly optimized for your keywords, you can help the search engines find it fast by social bookmarking and article marketing. However, you could be in a very competitive niche so you won't be in the first few pages of search results easily. Get more SEO ideas and implement them.

First thing is that you need to submit your site to all the search engines available.This is both manual and automatic process.

For manual process you could search for the term "add url" in google and submit to all the sites that have this add url. sites like: http://google.com/addurl, etc would come up.

For automatic process, you could search for term like "free site submissions" in google and provide the details. sites that i generally use for submission are: http://levoltz.com/submit.
