I had an account but one day, after about six weeks, I looked at the screen full of my details and other people's stupid comments and all the talk of how many 'friends' they had and I just thought ''what the hell am I doing...??''
I deleted the account and couldn't be happier about it.


Edit: You CAN permanently delete your account rather than just deactivate it, but FB really doesn't want you to do it. Took me about an hour to figure out how to do it, then takes another hour of messing around with confirmation emails, then you have to wait about 20 days for it to fully delete.

I couldn't get rid of it, i like leaving the door open to contact people, but i know what you mean. I don't post my private life and just stick to my profile and one or two close friends, rather than looking through everything on the newsfeed, some people just share EVERYTHING. I don't want to feel like i know more about them than their own mother when i barely know them
