How do you dump friends on Facebook?

There are some people with whom I no longer care to be Facebook friends with, but I don't know how to go about deleting them as friends. How do I delete Facebook friends?

Click to view your friends, then click the X on the right hand side of the friend you would like to delete.

if you go to the person's profile, then underneath the picture on the left hand side all the way near the bottom of the stuff they have on the left there is an option to remove them as a friend

you can go to the persons profile,
then you scroll down to the very bottom.
and on the left it should say 'Delete as Friend'
or something like that.
and you click, it asks for verification
and voila !
