Why is my internet so slow?
Recently we've been having troubles with running any sort of video stream such as Netflix or Youtube, as well as with just day-to-day web browsing. We currently have Century Link, run off of a modem, use 2 computers (one is connected and the other is off of wifi), a ps3, and one laptop. This is supposed to be their "high speed internet" and it can't even load pictures on Facebook.

I did a speed test and got: 19.52mbps download speed and 0.74mbps upload speed.

I'm not techno savvy, so this information is practically useless to me, but I'm sure someone out there can decipher this and tell me whether or not my connection seems to be bad.
About a week ago we called in a guy to check out the service and he said everything is running "up to par with exceptionally good speed" however, obviously this isn't right.
All devices are from Apple, including the newest iphone and ipod. The modem we're using (which was JUST purchased for the reason that we thought we'd get faster internet) is called Actiontec C1000A

4 devices ( 2 Computers, one is connected and the other is off of WiFi, a PS3, and one laptop ) and we don't know how many smartphones etc. all running off of a 19 Mb pipeline, so definitely it is going to get slow.

You should also take into account that in your area or neighborhood there might be many people who got on the internet recently, with the same company. So this also divides the total bandwidth (not the 19Mb that you get) in your area.

It is also possible that you are still using a Docis 2.0 Modem instead of the latest Docsis 3.0 modem. Further on you should check whether you are using a Wireless G adapter instead of the latest Wireless 802.11N or Wireless 802.11AC adapter in the computer with WiFi.

The speed with a lot of internet providers slows way
down during the peak hours when there are so many
people going on the internet. Like I usually run like
21 to 22 Mbps during non peak hours. Now I am in
the peak hours. I am running 16.50 Mbps. Which I can
hardly tell any difference. I am still able to watch
You Tube videos @1080p
