What can I do about my internet? <READ>?
I live in a heavily wooded area, internet limited out here. I am a very technical person, I love technology, I'm great with it. You know what's hard being a tech lover? Having crappy internet! I download about 250 kb/s for my fellow computer nerds you know that's bad. Now I have Verizon frontier, my other option is some really bad satellite (which I've had previously) company. I have one other option though the company Hughes Net, but one downside 'THEY ARE SATELLITE' what if it's bad like the last? Then I'm locked in with them for like 2 years... Optic Fiber doesn't support my area, makes me sad. What can I do to get better internet? Is Hughes net good?

You don't say where you live. That would be useful information. Try this:

Satellite is always going to have a very high latency and very low caps. Definitely not going to be ideal, even if it is faster.
I would look into wireless internet service providers in your area. There are local ones scattered about and some of them offer pretty good service comparable to good DSL. |
