Slow internet connection?
Hello. I am having problems with my internet connection with my new ASUS M51AC-US016S. I have not yet downloaded any apps (except Webroot) or games and has only been checking my mail, Facebook, and Youtube. But every time I open them, it takes at least a minute to download the content. Does this has something to do with the new computer (like having a high processor, graphics, etc.?) or is there just something wrong with the internet connection? I tried restarting my wifi connection and has not helped. My laptop and other gadgets that depend on this wifi connection have been working perfectly well besides this ASUS M51AC-US016S.

Thank you.
Joshua:
Thank you for answering. But I do have another question. Wouldn't be updated if I just bought this brand new ASUS M51AC-US016S last Sunday? And if I ever update its driver, do you think it would make such a difference with the speed of the connection? It just doesn't make sense on how I bought this new desktop computer and it's already working slow.

PS: I also rebooted the computer and it is still the same.

It might be something to do with your Router (which I doubt because if you other gadgets are working...)

I would most likely see if your drivers for the board are up to date, this may be the cause. (Even if they are I would re-install)

I've had this problem on some ASUS boards, which, I'm mainly an MSI guy now, but usually updating the drivers have solved my problem in the past.

Also, no, I doubt that having high-end specs limit your connection, unless you have something else connected to your router that is destroying your bandwidth (which again, is unlikely)

Try to check for the network preference of your asus. it might have low sepcs when it comes to internet stuff..blah blah..

but actually, facebook, your mail are processing in the background. So I assume that it was the one slowing your internet,. Try to properly close them in the App settings.
