Facebook friends...?

hello

i have a question!
on my facebook friends' list fo example says that he or she has 240 friends, and then when i start looking at the friends list it shows a smaller number - for example not 240 but 231??? Can you tell me what does this mean? The missing friends has been blocked or deleted?

Most likely, it means they've deleted them or blocked them, in some cases the other person may have deleted their profiles.

The missing friends just put their public search settings to "Friends only." Basically, if you're not friends with those people, you won't even know they have a Facebook. So you're looking at your friend's friend list but like 9 people are missing. Those 9 people changed their settings so only their own friends can see that they exist on Facebook. You can't see their name but your friend can. You weren't blocked (well, maybe you could be but I doubt it) and they didn't delete their profile.
