Are there any Facebook groups about how milk and cheese isn't cruelty to animals?

My vegan friend keeps inviting me to anti-cruelty vegan pages and I just want to show her that at least DAIRY FARMS don't treat cows cruelly.

And maybe pages that prove God gave us animals to eat?

Thanks Smile

You how they get cows to lactate?
Impregnate them. Over and over again.
What do they do with the calves?
Turn them into veal.

Yah how would you like it if they locked you up in a crowded factory, got you pregnant, took your baby, and sucked your milk with a pump? Over and over? Until you were menopausal and couldn't produce so they slaughtered you?

It of course depends on the farm, but large scale operations aren't generally 'nice' to their animals. Cows are given hormones to produce more milk, penned together in small spaces, and milked with frightening frequency.

The only way to discourage these practices is to buy local dairy, where you can actually go and see how the animals are treated, and reward the farmers who run safe, clean, and 'animal friendly' operations.

Hmmm... if we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

Pure dairy farms that don't supply meat aren't any less cruel than meat farms, because male calves are slaughtered at birth. The cows have to keep giving birth to keep supplying milk, and only female cows give milk, so there's no use for most male calves in a dairy herd.

So in that sense it's crueller to be an ovo-lacto veggie than it is to eat meat - not to mention wasteful. At least cows slaughtered (humanely) for meat have some chance of a life, and it's not like you're saving them by only eating dairy.

why would anyone join a group about that? some people are vegans because dairy consumption causes more harm than good to your health despite what the dairy industry tells you....they don't give a sh*t about our health.
read the book "Skinny B*tch"
