How to make posts of facebook timeline private?

I don't want the public to see my wall posts. How can I make the posts private?
I said the "public" its okay for my friends to see.

When you log onto Facebook, next to home there is an arrow click that and from the drop down menu click privacy settings. Go down and there will be the title 'Control Your Default Privacy,' click friends. Then click on how you connect. A window will come up with different titles e.g. 'Who can look up your Timeline by name?' Select your preferences. After all of these steps have been completed to your preference you will have the settings you want.

You can also adjust the individual settings on each post by clicking the little icon on the top right hand of it. A drop down menu will appear that enables you to select different options like "public", "friends only", "only me", or "custom" (which controls which individuals you want to grant access to the post).

PP gave good advice on how to set up a default setting for every post.

In the uper right courner on facebook there is an aero pointing down (it's acually not an aero but it kind of looks like it.) You click on the areo and then you click on privacy settings. Now it will bring you to the privacy settings page and on this page you can change your posts so only your friends can see them. Also when ever you post something on facebook, at the bottom right courner there is that same aero and if you click on there will be options for you to have it so your friends can just see it. Sorry if that was confusing. Hope this helps!
