what do the 5 friends when you hover over your name on facebook mean?

if you go to your profile and hover the cursor over your name, a box will show up with 5 of your facebook friends. my best friends always show up, along with my sister, my ex boyfriend, my friend with benefits and old best friends. i've only talked to 3 of these people publicly over facebook, and i don't use facebook to talk to any of the others. what's going on? are they looking at my profile? thank you!

Do you go to their profiles often? I'm not sure, but the people at the top of mine are people who's profiles I usually go to.
