Facebook Privacy: doesn't show people who aren't my friends my friends list?

I'm just wondering why people who aren't my friends can't see my friends list. When I look up a certain person, I can see who their friends are, but I when logged into an extra account, and when I checked my own profile, I couldn't see my friends list. Can I fix this?

Go to your profile and click the pencil on your friend box. Then select the option for every to see your friends
