How old are you? If you are under 14 or 15 then I could understand, but if your 15 or 16, then sit down and talk to her about how you want to have a FaceBook and mention all the positives about it.

I made mine when I was 13 behind my parents back because they didn't want me to have one, either. Now I am 16 and they couldn't give a crap.

I think kids are too stupid to have Facebook. Stick to Myspace.

at first comment -- completely irrelevant. thumbs down.
at dean -- good job trolling. but you suck. learn from the master. bend over, my grasshopper... before my long champion.

anyways, here's a good site that will answer most of your questions about christianity or "rules", and about your question of facebook as well.
tell her to read that site...

there's nothing wrong about going on facebook or making you "unchristian."
the wrong thing is that when you began to embrace hubris (pride), thus resulting into narcissism (the indulgence of loving one's self).

or maybe your mom believes that facebook is full of secular crap (no argument there), and she wants to shield you away.

but as and always will be, the age question will have to come in hand...
are you old enough? are you responsible enough to protect yourself from hackers? from ther harms of the internet?
things may sound stupid now... but you'll understand it later.

so back to dean's failed troll attempt -- god wants the best for you.
maybe your mom is doing what's actually BEST for you.
however, like eve, we humans have an upsetting curiosity. so we bite the fruit.

message me via my yahoo answers profile if you want to talk, or have any more info about computers, etc. thank you for your time.

You're not missing anything, believe me. It's just a waste of time. Use the e-mail, phone, sms, Skype, and most important of all, real life, instead. That's the best way to keep in contacts, even with those friends who are really far... If your mother has a Facebook account, she's wasting her time too. Don't do it yourself too, it's simply nonsense.

Look what she's doing to herself (even being an adult, it affects her...): http://terranovauk.blog.com/2012/10/20/t...lopment-2/
