How do you remove "Friends" from your Facebook friends list?

I want to say months ago, you can open up your friends list and hit the familiar "X" to remove friends from your friends list, but I don't see that anymore. Has that changed recently? Also, removing groups doesn't seem to be easily visible either.

i just looked on facebook and you can still remove friends with the X in your friends list

If you go to the person's profile, scroll all the way to the bottom and look at the left.
here is what you'll see:
Suggest Friends for *insert name here*
Report/Block this person
Remove from Friends
Share

And clic "remove from friends."

To remove a friend from your account:

1. Find who you want to delete, either by searching them up or finding them on your friends list
2. When on their profile scroll down to the bottom and look on the left side, you should see a few options there click 'Remove from Friends'
3. A pop up box is displayed asking you to confirm it, click 'Remove from Friends'

If you need to, you may want to block the person, from ever having access to your profile again, to do this:

1. Find the person who you want to block, after you have removed them as a friend, you see their profile
2. Scroll down and on the left there is an option to 'Report/Block this Person, click it
3. Then a pop-up box appears, tick the check box 'Block this Person' and then click 'Submit'

To Reverse this, ie to unblock them:

1. Click on the account button at the top Right hand corner, a drop down list is displayed, then click Privacy Settings
2. Click 'Blocked List'
3. Here you can see a list of everyone you have blocked, find the person you want to unblock and click 'Remove'
4. A pop-up box is displayed asking you to confirm this, click 'Confirm'

This removes the person from the blocked list.
