Why has Facebook told me I'm a member of too many groups? What is the limit? How long has there been a limit?

I've joined a lot of pointless groups today but all of a sudden when I've gone to join another a little box comes up saying 'You're a member of too many groups' There's nothing on Facebook that says there's a limit on how many groups you can be a member of. Does anyone out there know the limit?

Well, since you can't join anymore, I'd say whatever number you're at now is the limit.

I'm not sure there's a limit, but it may suspect your a bot trying to spam users by joining so many groups at once, give it a day and try to join another one.

about 300 is the limit that you can join... but as far as i know you can be a fan of unlimited things currently i'm a fan of over 2000 pages

then speak to facebook - why ask on yahoo when yahoo has no control over the site in question!
