Why do I have followers on Twitter?
I just started allowing anyone to follow me in Twitter a few hours ago. I have posted nothing of importance yet I have received about 5 emails stating that xxxx is now following me. Why would someone waste their time following me?

A lot of people have set up schemes to follow everyone in a given town, or who use a specific word. (I picked up 10 followers, all from the Philippines, after I made a lame joke about manila envelopes.)
