Facebook recently having more ads?

So I was on facebook earlier today and everything was normal,
I went on just now and there are ads everywhere- (more than usual) like inbetween my wall posts and stuff.
Is this something that has just been changed on facebook or is there a way i block them from appearing?

If you are using Google Chrome or Firefox, you could use an addon/extension to block facbeook ads.
