i loathe consumerism and get rather pissed off about nearly 97% of the ads i see, not only because of consumerism, but also because of the implications some of the ads give off for example (ads about "hot jeans and skirts for women" perpetuating the ideal that in order to be happy/fulfilled/desired accepted, and approved of by others, females must look physically attractive) or because of the fact that some of them just downright do not fit anything that i would fathom-ably ever even think of purchasing/supporting (such as: vote for republican candidate such and such). So, i dislike many, many ads, almost all of them actually...so i was just wondering which kinds of ads facebook would give me if i were to dislike EVERY ad? anyone with experience trying to manipulate this system for kicks or otherwise, your knowledge would be appreciated. Smile thank you, and irrelevant or hostile answers will not be tolerated.

One of three results occur:
1: You start getting advertisements in which it mocks other advertisements, thereby appealing to your distaste for advertisements..
2: You start getting advertisements in which the idea of it is to get you to dislike their ad so that you remember it better, or to dislike their competitors' products.
3: An e-black hole forms over advertisement spaces which begins to consume your entire page.

Use the Firefox browser and download the Adblock Plus add-on. Since I downloaded it I have not seen a single advertisement; sounds like you could use it too.

...That didn't make sense... I don't think that means what you think it means.

I also use adblock for firefox which solves the problem (not just on facebook but EVERYWHERE! yay!) buuuuut I would have to assume that if you dislike every ad equally they will just continue showing you random ads hoping that some day you will "like" one so they know what direction to take.

by the way, did you know that oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are like 99% better than normal chocolate chip cookies? it's true.
