I just want to know some reasons why people want or ask for more followers on social networks. For example, people are asking for promos to get followers. Why do people want more followers?

People have wanted Fame and Fortune for tens of thousands of years. Since these people you speak of have neither, the easist one to obtain via social networks is Fame.

Because they want to connect with them they want them to view there stuff thats the reason why for tumblr facebook or twitter
