How do I prevent my facebook friends from seeing that I am friends with someone?

Recently I have become friends with a recognizable (celebrity) person. Her facebook account is pretty exclusive because she only has 130ish friends and it is blocked from search. However, I have like 800 friends. She wants to prevent tabloids from picking up her pictures (as it has happened before). Not that I don't trust my facebook friends, but I think it would be easier if I could "hide" her as my friend. Is there a way to do this?

I don't think that facebook can hide specific people in the friends list from other people. I have tried to do this before because I am friends with 2 people that absolutley hate each other and they dont want me to be friends with the other person but i am friends with both. =

Yes, email or call her personally and don't add her on Facebook!

go to settings then you'll see account settings (click it). After that you can make it private for each category.

You can't hide her on your friend list. But you can hide her photos. Here is how:

Log on to facebook and go to your "Photos" tab. Under "Freddy's Albums," there will be a button for "Album Privacy." Click it. Once you're there, you want to alter the privacy settings on a case by case basis - changing it for any photo albums with her in them. That will let you limit just the albums with photos of your celebrity friend. This will keep your other albums visible, but hide the ones with her in them. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that you can do it for individual photos right now. Perhaps this will change, but for now, all you can do is hide photo albums.

Oh, but if she tags you in one of her photos, it will show up on your wall... you'll have to block your friends from seeing things you're tagged in:
Account -> Privacy Settings -> Custom -> Customize Settings -> Things Others Share -> "Photos and Videos I'm tagged in." Change it to Only you. Or whatever you want. That should do it. No links should appear on your wall to her photos now, and no one will be able to get to your photos of her.
