Question about Twitter?

Let's say I send a "tweet" to a charity organization on Twitter by going to their page and clicking reply. Not a direct message. Will they still get it or is it pointless since they are not following me?

They'll see it if they like...

You know when you click on an update, and then below it they list off everyone who has replied to it? I think thats the only way they'll be able to see it.
Because yeah, they're probably not following you, so it won't appear on their home page.
But they WILL see it if they take the time to read thru all their relpies to that update.
