I don't understand it and they say starting tomorrow that everyone will start having to have it. When I go to my friends who have it and try to read it, it keeps jumping back to the top of the page. It is so frustrating. It is not worth my frustration. You have to go and make sure everything is private again after they make you switch to the timeline. I don't have it yet, but I don't think I will be on it after they switch as I can't even read my friends comments who do have it.

if you are using the "set IE7 as your user agent" trick to get rid of timeline and want to get rid of the gap, just install FB Purity, as that will remove the gap that you are seeing. you can get fb purity here:

there is no way to remove it - everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook

There's no way to undo the Timeline upgrade. Although for the moment Facebook did not make a clear statement in any of its official pages about how the upgrade would be deployed, and as a consequence there is a lot of false information going around, experienced users know that Facebook upgrades of this size have never been optional.

Besides, there are clear evidences that indicate that there will be no way to go back to the old Profile. Take a look at the article in the source to see what those evidences are.
