Why do I see ads everywhere?
It just started like 30 minutes ago. I'm starting to see ads under some status updates on my Facebook newsfeed, ads under the comments under a youtube video & on top of a youtube video (I know ads are usually on the popular videos, but I'm seeing them on all of them). I'm just wondering because I've never seen ads under people's facebook status's before. Is this a virus or something??

Thanks!!
I'm using Mozilla Firefox. I checked Internet Explorer & it happens on there too. It's weird because there's so many on Youtube, one on top of the video, one right under the video, one under the comments, & one all the way at the bottom. I've never seen it like this before.

Use an Ad blocker. I've used one for years so haven't seen an ad for a very long time Smile

This is as good as it gets for Firefox:

Those are external advertisements that have been approved by Facebook. These are just some new sources for Facebook to make money. If you are frustrated with these advertisements, you can use an advertisement blocker.

Since you are using Mozilla Firefox, you should use AdBlock Plus. Here is the download link to this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...lock-plus/

AdBlock is there as an external widget on almost every web browser so you should not have difficulty finding it for another browser.

Those ads are being inserted by whats known as "adware", see here for more info: https://www.facebook.com/help/adware

BTW a great way to remove the normal facebook ads on facebook is to install the FB Purity browser extension, its 100% safe & has lots of features for keeping your facebook clean: http://fbpurity.com
