friend asked me if i am into girls..... i was pulling his leg and told him i was , and now he has stopped talking to me ??

The only reason I can think of for that behavior is he is against gay people and/or disgusted by them, he may also be creeped out. Assuming I'm right those are all dumb reasons, it is 2012 and a real friend would accept you if you were gay or not.
