How do I remove some information from the basic information box on the Facebook timeline?

I don't like that on my timeline in the basic information box it says were I went to school and where I worked because neither of them are current. Also, where I live and were I'm from are the same thing so it's kind of redundant. I don't mind them being on my information page because that is my history, but they don't need to be on my timeline. How do I choose what's seen on my timeline basic info box and what's not?
Just to make sure I'm being clear - this is the BASIC INFORMATION on the profile page, NOT statuses, pictures, etc, this is where you work, where you go to school, where you live, where you're from your birthday, relationship status, etc.

Also, another clarification - This is the BASIC INFORMATION on the PROFILE page, NOT on the information page itself.
Another note (because I can't respond to each of your kind and generous attempts at helping me, thank you by the way) - As far as having the timeline goes, I click on "Update info" because that's as close to "edit profile" as I'm going to get (unless there is an "edit profile" button hidden somewhere) then there's absolutely no way I can choose not to show my work and school on my profile. I can remove it completely from my page so that no one can ever see it again, but, like I said earlier, I don't want to do that.

Q: Can I delete status updates, images, and other content from my Timeline?
A: Yes! Deleting is an option. Just click that pen icon to edit, and you'll see "delete."

Just click edit profile. It should show up next to the info

you can easily hide them by going to their respective sections and then selecting from the dropdown icon - "Only Me" that's got a sign of a Lock.

select that for each of the topics and nothing will be shown!

You will find an edit timeline option from your account setting. You'll find the edit timeline option on your left hand side. You click on that and it will take you to the information you are trying to hide. Then go to each individual information you want to hide, you'll see a drop down arrow right beside them, click on that and set to 'Only me'. In this way, you'll have your information but no one else will be able to see them.

P.S.- Where you live and where are you from are not the same thing. For example, may be right now you are living in NY because you are doing a job there but originally you are from Alabama.
