Met this girl over the summer at my college orientation. We talked (texted) each other 3-4 times a week. We couldn’t really hang out because we live three hours away from each other, but when college started we hang out first couple of days. She then started ignoring me and about three weeks ago I told her that I liked her and she said that she likes someone else.

I have been having a really hard time moving on…I really like her; we just had a lot in common. Anyway, I would just like some advise on how I can move on. Its like, I now nothing will happen but I have this dumb hope that something will. Any advise on how to stop this?

Should I remove her as a friend on Facebook? Will this help? What should I do and what works best? Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you are checking up on her profile a lot, then it would be a good idea. Obsessing over her life will hold you back. Otherwise if that's not a problem, then it's up to you. It's just facebook, she shouldn't take it personally and I think she would understand.

I have had this happen to me a few times. So I have been there. Honestly, it's hard being friends with someone you like. Because that feeling stays. The way I see it will it help to see pics of them with people show up in your news feed? When I have someone I talk to say they aren't into me and I was talking to them as more than a friend. I generally just never talk to them again. It's kinda like ripping a band aid off it hurts at first but you get over them soooo much faster than if you were to stay in contact! Hope it helps, and I'm sorry being rejected is never fun.

Yes remove her from your face book, and her number from your phone. It sounds like you really don't know this girl as much as you think, and removing any source of contact with her will help you move on, and help you avoid any stalker type actions. If you ignore her she might come around. If you keep contacting her you will become annoying and push her farther away. It sounds like you are just starting college. Im sure you will meet lots of girls, so I suggest playing the field a little. Have fun! You have your whole life ahead of you!
