It seems like everything on Twitter is so automated, auto postings, auto responses, auto direct messages, etc, etc, etc.... Is that all Twitter is now?

The people I follow are real people, I have met 95% of them. The other 5% I am pretty sure as they don't use automated anything. Some of me contacts do use automated postings or dm's but only when they want something posted and cannot be online at the same time.

Pick your followers wisely. Remember that it's not quantity but quality. You don't have to follow everyone who follows you (I sure as hell don't). If you don't like the automated users, don't follow them.

No, Automating twitter is not a bad thing it it is used properly. I use automate sometimes for messages. I only have around a thousand followers so no it's not just about automating twitter.

Your content on twitter has to be what people want to know about. People on twitter also respond to other people's tweets as well. I do this all the time. I also promote other people's tweets by retweeting their tweet.

So, you can build relationships on twitter.
