Can you see more of a person's facebook profile just by sending them a message?

My cousin died and I haven't added him on facebook. I know he won't be there to read it or add me as a friend but I would love to write to him so the family can see it. Also, by sending a message, will I be able to see more of his profile? Like maybe his wall / pictures?

No. If you send him a message it will just there waiting for him to respond, and he can't respond if he's dead. The only way to see more of someone's profile is to add him as a friend, but again he isn't alive to confirm acceptance so that won't work either.
