How do you successfully add your children as family to your facebook profile?

I have added my 3 yr old and 18 mth old children as family members on my facebook profile, but it won't list their ages and it says "(pending)" next to their names. They don't have facebook accounts, obviously... but other friends on Facebook have successfully listed their baby/toddler children and it lists their age and doesn't say "(pending)" next to their names. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Have you tried looking at your profile using other accounts first? Maybe the "Pending" msg only shows when you're loking at your own profile. I'm not sure
