What's up with all the ads on youtube and facebook?

I just woke up and found ads on facebook and youtube after trying to talk to my friends and family ontop that when I click post when I comment on a video on youtube it doesn't post and my computer runs fast as hell and it has a good internet connection. I also see a Change Background button on facebook which completely sucks. I thought that was only myspace not to mention they don't work. Can anyone help me on why I can't Post on any youtube videos and what's up with all the ads? Not trying to rant or anything but is anyone else having these problems besides me? I also see an annoying video pop up and I can't get rid of it and it's not even posted on a status.
I fixed it. It was a stupid adblock addon for mozilla and it was preventing me from commenting things etc.

DOes facebook charge for accounts? No
Youtube doesn't either. They have to make money somehow.

In order to have all of the cool features they have to get money and by letting people advertise they earn money.
And heads up it wont go away for a very long time
