If you make a fake facebook as a joke can you get arrested?

My friends and I make really dumb facebook accounts that are obviously fake and troll people from our school and this girl said she was going to get the police involved, we dont say mean things, we just make stupid jokes...

No. People have facebook for their pets even. So unless your threaten someone, or slander them you are fine.

Well it depends on what kind of 'jokes' that you use. Sometimes, you may be bullying someone but you don't realize. But you're probably just doing some harmless trolling, so it would get you in no trouble at all. The police have little or no jurisdiction on Facebook, so you definitely could NEVER get arrested for anything you do on facebook. It's up to facebook to respond, and the girl is probably just trying to scare you. Making fake facebook accounts themselves is in no way illegal, in fact a lot of facebook accounts are not for real people anyway.

You can be arrested if what you are doing could be considered harassment or bullying. It's also illegal if you are using another person's photos without their permission -- that's copyright infringement and invasion of privacy
