Can you stop people from going on your Facebook profile?

I recently deactivated my Facebook profile and want to activate again now but I want to edit it before other people can view it again.
I have Timeline now and want to edit and delete some of my comments/posts from a few years back.

Is there any way I can edit my profile without anyone else being able to find me at the same time?
Then when I have finished editing it open it back out to my friends?

No one will know when you reactivate your profile. If you are worried (for whatever reason??) you can change your privacy settings to 'no one' under the who can view your profile settings and then change it back when you are done. For safety tho I would be sure all of your settings were set to friends only unless you want all of your friends friends or everyone to see the info and photos you share.
