Help, does he like me?

So... There´s this guy that goes in the same school as me and we´re sorta friends as in we do talk a bit and hang out together in school, but not outside school. I´m really confused about how he feels towards me, cuz he gives mixed signals all the time. First of all, sometimes he´ll talk to me a lot, sit next to me and come up to me when I´m by my locker, but then some day´s he´ll almost ignore me and like flirt/talk with other girls.
He is really outgoing, but around me there always seems to these awkward silences (when it´s just the two of us) and he is quiet but nice and sweet. When we are in groups together he is different. He is always making everyone laugh, and teases me a lot (though this he does with other girls too).
He also ALWAYS looks at me in class like A LOT. At first I thought I was imagining this, but the thing is I´ve asked my closest friend if he does, and she says it´s very obvious.
We also chat on facebook btw and he has asked me if I like anyone (he always starts the conversations on facebook btw) but the thing is, the latest month he´s been like ignoring me on facebook.
We don´t hug that much just us two - but he always does "group hugs" when I´m around too and kinda hugs me then. And he frequently stands close to me so that we kinda touch - though that might be accidentally of course.
I should probably mention that I´m really shy, and he´s really outgoing and funny. We also had a facebook conversation a while ago were he kinda thought I liked him, and said he was not ready to like someone yet, and we decided to just be friends, the thing is though all of the mentioned above stuff has happened after that and also, he kinda went on a date with one of my friends?? (but they then decided to just be friends)
Btw, I´m not sure what I feel towards him at this point..... But my question I guess is do you think he likes me, or am I reading things into this that don´t exist and he is just being friendly?

I see a couple of signs that he likes you but I think he is more attracted to you instead of actually liking you. I really think if he liked you he would be showing you more attention and not ignoring you some of the time.
