Advice on breaking up on facebook?

Hi Guys, When two people are in a relationship on Facebook and both their profiles say 'in a relationship with (each other)', if one of them breaks it off so their status is now 'single', what happens on the other person's profile? Does their status automatically change to 'single' as well or do they have to change it to 'single' themselves?

No, it stays In a relationship but the name of the other person doesn't stay there since the other person changed the status Hope this helps
