"Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length which are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them (known as followers). Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow anybody to access them. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications. The service is free to use over the Internet, but using SMS may incur phone service provider fees." Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter

It is, and isn't, like Facebook. Unlike Facebook, EVERYONE can see your posts, unless you edit it other wise. You can follow who ever you want, and their "Tweets" show up in your feed. You can communicate with other people, but there is no chat feature. You can '@' someone's name, for example if you wanted to contact me, you would put, @(and then my username) and I would get a notification saying someone tagged me in a post. There is also just a message box, where only you and the other person can see what you say.

I personally like Twitter WAAY better. I wish that my friends used it, but they're all on Facebook. It allows people only to say so much, and I won't have to see all the stupid lyrics people post all the time. (:

Hope this helps Wink
