Why'd it take him so long?
My boyfriend and I have been together for over 4 months. The only time he's ever complimented me was before we got together, he said I was "cute as hell". He's always talking about how pretty or beautiful certain celebrities are, which really upsets me because he never compliments me. He picks on me because I am pale (I have Irish in me, I don't tan..I'm not even that pale) or my height (I'm pretty short) or stupid stuff like that. Today, our friend said my profile pic on Facebook was pretty and he was like "pshhh". Later, I texted him "Can I ask you a silly question?" and he said "What?" I asked "Do you think I'm pretty?" He said "Yeah, why?" I said "You never tell me so." and he didn't reply. Why did it take him so long to tell me I was pretty and he never actually said it, just said yes when I asked if I was?

Stop overanalyzing. Focusing on compliments (esp about looks) isn't a good basis for a relationship.

Also teasing could be the dude flirting.

If he hasn't had many serious relationships before, it might be because of that... Or if he didn't have parents that guided him in how to treat a woman you're interested in......

I wasted a year in an unfulfilling relationship with a guy who thought showing affection was buying me snacks. -_______-

It might not be his fault that he doesn't know how to express the way he feels, but i have a feeling you'll find much more happiness in someone else.
