How does Facebook make money? $6.9 Billion worth?
I was just wondering how Facebook is worth $6.9 billion. I know the ads on the side have something to do with consumers buying, etc. but do THAT MANY people actually click on the ads on the side?! And if they do, what does Facebook have to do with any of their business?

I believe the advertisers pay to get their ads put on Facebook.

Facebook aggreates your information and that of your "Friends" and uses that information to send you targeted advertising based on your personality and profile....what do you think those "Like" buttons are for...they tell Facebook exactly what your interests are so they can sell that information to advertisers.
This targeted advertising is worth about 10 times more than regular "shotgun" advertising. Facebook is nothing but a commercial ad site. People just don't realize it yet. You have "like" sites and have "Friends" and the whole purpose is to tell your "Friends" (consumers) about sites you "like" (commercial enterprises). So basically you, as the user, are pumping out ads to people. Sort of legalised spam. Facebook is pretty evil. |
