Can't see friends "likes" on Facebook anymore?

On My friend (boyfriend)s Facebook I noticed the other night on his activity log I couldn't see his "likes" and he's the type of guy that won't really go on, just like a status or comment on one every now and then.

But I saw he liked a status of someone I'm friends with also friends with on Facebook and it didn't show up in his activity log?
