I just want to do the right thing for both of us?
Alright, so, there's this guy. I've known him since seventh grade, and we're pretty good friends. I like him a little bit, but not as much as some other guys, so I try to avoid flirting with him or something by accident so that I don't give off the wrong idea. I guess I failed miserably at that, because I'm 98% sure he has a crush on me now. (Whenever we go somewhere, he sits next to me; when I'm on facebook, he almost always messages me; he does things like give me random pieces of candy, or lets me have the best seat in our study group circle; there's other stuff, too, but it'd take too long.)

So here's the thing: if he asks me out, should I say yes? Like I said, I do like him some, so a part of me wouldn't mind dating him. Especially if I accidentally flirted when I didn't mean to. I don't want it to seem like I led him on, and hurt him by accident. Also, we're both in highschool, and relationships in high school aren't supposed to be very serious, anyway.
However, there's another part of me that's being logical. I know if we were to start dating it wouldn't go very far or last very long. Also, like I said before, there are other guys I like a bit more, but I don't really have a realistic chance with. Still, that's not fair to the first guy, if I enter a relationship with him but I know there are other guys I wouldn't have even had to think about saying "yes" to if, by some weird circumstance, they even asked me out.
Another issue is that we have similar last names, so we'll be in close proximity during graduation. I feel like if we started a relationship and then broke up, that'll make graduation weird. (Although, if he asks me out and I say no, then it'll be weird anyway, I guess...)

Basically, I'm just trying to do the right thing, that'll hurt the least for the least amount of people. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Meet up with 'em and change the way it should be! You should consider apologizing for your actions toward the guy...

Good luck!
