we're both 17 and finished school over a year ago. He was in the popular group at school and was middle class. he is extremely shy! he couldn't even talk to me in person, only on facebook after 2years of us being in the same class!

he is so different to his friends at school, he has never had a drink, has never had a cigarette & and has never had sex and is a genuine nice guy.

for the first time ever we hung out the other night, he message me to come out, so I snuck out of my house at 11:00pm and hung out for 2 hours, got a quick cuddle from him because we were cold, and he held me tighter than i could hold him, let me link his arm as he walked me back home and I got in at just gone 2!

then he messaged me to say he got home and not to tell anyone we hung out because he doesn't want people knowing his business and then a good night. and hasn't spoken to me since :/

If he doesn't want people to know about just simply hanging out with you then there are other underlying problems he's having with the fact of people knowing. It's very childish and you shouldn't waste your time on someone who doesn't even want people to know you're friends.

The "not wanting people to know his business"? I'm going to assume that's what you are referring to when you ask "What's that meant to mean?!" You said he is shy, he probably just doesn't want attention drawn to himself. My best guess is that he likes you or that he's gay.

It sounds like he likes you, but by him not wanting people to know, that doesn't sound good.
It sounds as if he doesn't want people to know because of what his friends might say, as there are a lot of pressures being in a popular group. He may not want to feel pressured by his friends to do stuff with you.
I think he likes you though, because otherwise, he wouldn't see you for 2 hours in the cold.
I think you should talk to him.
