I want to delete my twitter?
I think that someone has gotten my password for twitter. Every time i try to log on it says that my account is locked. My friends that follow me say that my account has been tweeting, but its not me. it says things like, "try this site to get more followers!" I want to delete it and make a new one with my same email. i tried but my email is taken. please help!

Your account was stolen by a spammer. You can try the "forgot my password" link on the sign-in page, but the spammer may have changed the email address associated with your Twitter account. In that case you can try to contact Twitter to see if they can either give you back control of your account or delete it for you.

1. Request a password reset
Reset your password by requesting an email from this http://twitter.com/account/resend_password. Try entering both your username and email address, and be sure to check for the email in any email accounts that you might have used on your Twitter account.

If you’re able to log in after the password reset, please re-secure your account by following the steps here http://support.twitter.com/articles/3179...mpromised.

2. Contact support if you still require assistance
If you still can't log in, contact us by submitting a Support request. Be sure to use the email address you associated with the hacked Twitter account; we'll then send additional information and instructions to that email address. Include both your username and the date you last had access to your account.

If you’ve lost access to the actual email account associated with your Twitter account, please see this help page.http://support.twitter.com/articles/107907-i-don-t-have-access-to-my-account-s-email-address-anymore

Deactivating your account permanently removes your profile from Twitter. Note that deactivated profiles may take up to 30 days to clear from our internal systems. While the deactivation is being completed, usernames or email addresses cannot be used in the creation of new accounts.

If you wish to use your username or email address with a future account, be sure to change them in your Settings page before you deactivate your account. You can deactivate your account from your account settings page by clicking "Deactivate my account" at the bottom.
