You don't pay a set fee, it's PPC (pay per click) or PPI (pay per impression) They will suggest to you how muchg you should place as a minimum bid then it's up to you to set the budget yourself. You can also stop it at any time...

It depends if you are going for Cost per impression or pay per click. From what I hear, its best to go with PPC at first - optimize it and then go for cost for impression for the same campaign to get a reduced cost

I recently set up an ad for a new business on Facebook.

The way it works is they have you fill out this form that let's you target your ads to a specific demographic. For instance, if you have a upper scale hair salon, you may want to target only Females between ages 25-55 in a 20 mile radius of your shop. So Facebook will suggest a per day budget that it will charge you to display your ad. You will only pay (in my instance) when people click on the ad (or there are other options). They then charge your PayPal or credit card each week that your ad is active. You can set an end date.

However, if you want to market the same business from above but target a broader demographic (say Female or Males ages 18-60), then Facebook will charge you a higher fee in exchange of exposing your business advertisement to a larger audience. Again, Facebook will give you a minimum budget based on how many Facebook users fall into your target audience category and you can choose to spend more money to have your ad appear more frequently.

Facebook doesn't ask your payment info until the very end, so play around with the tool - there's no harm.

You need to pay per click in your advertising campaing, the cost per click is a bid process, so the money you have to expend will be determined from several factors:

1.-The item you want to sell (more interesting equals more clicks equals more spend money)
2.-The bid you assing to that item ( less interesting item you need to bid higher to have clicks)
3.-The days and hours the campaing is active (you need to target your campaing
