Can mutual friends see my photos on facebook even though I have it set as 'Friends'?

My privacy settings is set as Friends only, and under tagging it is set as 'Friends' on who can see posts I've been tagged in which I hope means photos. When I go to my profile, click 'view as public' there are no pictures shown, which is good and what I want but I'm still not convinced.. I have a few pictures where on the upper right hand corner, it says shared with public but I don't want it to be and not sure if other non-friends can see them since I have it set as 'friends' only and not 'friends of friends' in my privacy settings. But I checked other peoples facebook profiles, who I'm not friends with but have mutual friends, and I can see a few pictures that say the same as mine 'Shared with public" on the upper right hand corner when all there other pictures are blocked, but when I use the View as Public feature to check mine, no pictures are shown. I am hoping and thinking it is because I never uploaded any pictures before so no one can see them rather than other people where some of their photos are blocked from viewing but a few can be seen as mutual friends that I can see because they uploaded it themselves. I know its kind of confusing. I couldnt find someones profile that did not have zero pictures blocked to test this out so I'm hoping someone can answer.
M: Where do you see that? I'm under Privacy Settings, Timeline and Tagging, and everything is set at 'Friends' including who can see stuff your tagged in on your timelime. The 'Friends of Friends' is not checked. It's just at 'Friends' but I'm not sure if this applies to photos? I think it does. I dont see anywhere else that says photos. And yeah, I just want friends only.
M: I see in custom, you can uncheck 'friends of friends'. Before I had it set on friends. When it's on friends, can friends of friends see them?

Try setting the pictures to "custom". Am I correct that you do not want anyone but friends to see the pictures? In custom, you can uncheck friends of friends. That way only friends can see them.
