Is there a way to get rid of facebook timeline?
Hi, I opted not to get the timeline when it first came out and rumor around the block is that on May 12, 2012 it won't be optional anymore. Is there a way to prevent it or undo it after May 12?
Thanks :-)

Opt out, delete account and do not log back in, that is one way.
When I saw that junk coming that is what I did, I closed, deleted the account, started a new and do not post to it.

Its stuck just like Youtube's new layout.
Btw if the upper answer does work, you'll have to add everyone back again.

there is no way to remove it - everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook, not an optional update - they are now forcibly converting everyone slowly without your consent

this guide will help you learn how to use it

as of April 27 2012, even user agent switching no longer works, facebook fixed this loophole as expected, so it's time to get used to using the timeline profile

There's no way to undo the Timeline upgrade. Although for the moment Facebook did not make a clear statement in any of its official pages about how the upgrade would be deployed, and as a consequence there is a lot of false information going around, experienced users know that Facebook upgrades of this size have never been optional.

Besides, there are clear evidences that indicate that there will be no way to go back to the old Profile. Take a look at the article in the source to see what those evidences are.

While its not possible to completely remove Timeline, you can however easily go back to viewing the old style profile pages without timeline in your own browser, you just need to follow this simple guide:

http://fbpurity.com/remove-timeline

This method is safe and it really works, you can tell this because it has over 56,800 "likes" on the page, and hundreds of positive comments from people who have got it to work.

FB Purity has also been reviewed and highly rated in The Washington Post, CNET, Lifehacker and PCWorld
