How do I post something to my group on facebook?

I've just made a Facebook group and I want to make a status as the group. Every time i write something in the box, it comes up as me writing on the wall of the group instead of the group posting something.
How do i make it so that the group posts the status? Please help!

Yes. Groups are different from Pages. So only your friends will see what you post there as the admin. If you wanna tell something to all members,use Message All members.
