Is a random IP address generator effective?

Im tired of my search engine queries producing ads on pages. Ill search for car parts or visit a dating web site and then for the next 6 weeks Ill get ads for car parts and single women on every web page including yahoo, facebook, youtube. etc.. The popups are getting annoying, and I dont want every website to know everything about me its creepy.
Anyone have any suggestions?

There's Adblock, a browser plugin that works pretty well. Also, most browsers have a pop-up blocker. Check to see if yours is enabled.

The answer to your question's title is NO. The problem is nothing to do with your IP address, but it depends on cookies that websites leave on your computer. You could try InPrivate browsing. If the browser implements this properly, then it should eliminate the problem.

I had a similar problem with Netflix. No issue when I access it from my TV, but when I use my PC, it keeps telling me that some of my Facebook friends are using Netflix, and asking me whether I want to share viewing details with my Facebook friends. I cleared cookies and Netflix stopped doing this. However, I had set Facebook to keep me logged in, and it needed me to log in again. When I told Facebook to keep me logged in, Netflix resumed asking me about sharing with Facebook friends.
