How do I get facebook timeline?

I recently made a Facebook account to contact my friends but I have the old facebook profile and everybody else has time line. I searched it up on google and it said to press a green button on the facebook time line page or something like that but it doesn't work. There is no green button or anything... Please help (^__^)

Try going to your profile and there should be a link there to set up timeline

your account has to be 30 days old first

go to one of your friends profiles and whichever one has the timeline it will say at the top of the page "would you like to get the timeline" and you would click yes
