Why does my facebook look very very basic and off to the side?

On Google chrome when i select Facebook off of my most visited web sites and when it comes up there aren't any ads and all posts are showing only an inch off of the left side of the screen and its not in the same format as Facebook usually is. On internet explorer it works fine its only on Google chrome.

Try the new Timeline format and see if it helps:
Login to your Facebook
Go to http://www.facebook.com/about/timeline
Click on the green button "Get timeline"

Oh dear....It's the spasticated version again. Happens sometimes when your internet is slow. I believe it's called the "Cached" version or summit. On the browser when you search, you can click on either the main thing or underneath, there is a little underlined link saying "cached" If you have slow internet it will automatically re direct you there to save time. Closing and re opening your browser may work.
