The only way really is to go by the 'follow and be followed' rule.
5 weeks ago I had less than 100 followers and now I'm nearing 5000  It's pretty easy and takes about 30 minutes per day. I'm http://www.twitter.com/mynamesash. I use the Twitter Rocket to get my 1000 followers per week. It's an awesome system because it gains you REAL followers, rather than crappy spambots etc. I get so many tweets and DMs that it's not even funny.
