when you start out you get both. and then after a while you just see the people know know on the side and im like "oh ill add them!" and i get requests from others too. so its both...

most in myspace asked me to be their friend.
in facebook i only have few and only one of them i sent a friend request.

mate, they made study and publish it on tv, 90% percent of the users on facebook ie: they have 2000 friends but they are only active with 5 or 10 users in max!!
for me i send requests more than receiving cause i work and live in Dubai and am new there, so screw it, few people accept lol
