Does using apps like Facebook, Instagram , twitter etc count as data ?

Does using apps like Facebook, Instagram , twitter etc count as data ?
I plan on switching to a different carrier and they on only give me 2 gb of data andni was wondering if that's including Facebook ?

Yes. Everything using the Internet counts as data (unless your have a different agreement of course), including data from/to the web browser, apps, and even ads in the apps. VoIP services like Skype and Google Talk also goes through the Internet which mean that they also count as data. The only thing not counting should be regular calls and SMS text messages.
